Awareness
To be aware: to inform oneself, to be conscious of certain issues.
Leftist spaces aren’t automatically discrimination-free spaces. enough. is meant to be a place of debate, but with the necessary regard for different needs and backgrounds. That’s why we call on everyone to be mindful and aware of each other. For us, awareness primarily means taking collective responsibility. By jointly confronting power structures and discrimination, we can work to counter them. This includes the recognition of one’s own privileges and existing power structures, but it also includes collective action in case of violations of any kind. Awareness should not be delegated to a few individuals. This process concerns all of us because we all contribute to shaping the atmosphere in a space – whether it is behind the bar, at the entrance, on stage, or as a visitor.
This behavior has absolutely no place here and will not be tolerated under any circumstances:
Racist, sexist, anti-queer (queermisia), ableist remarks and actions; colonial ideologies of any kind; violence in any form; physical contact without consent; taking photographs of other people without consent, which could endanger their privacy and safety.
What does the awareness team do and where can I find them?
An awareness team will be present during the events, which you can recognize by the pink enough.-stickers. You will find support if you feel uncomfortable in a situation or with certain people. Approach the team if you experience discriminatory behavior yourself, observe it in others or want to withdraw for a moment. However, the awareness team should not be understood as a controlling authority or security service, nor as an expert body. We’re trying to provide different contact persons with a wide range of knowledge and experiences. If you want to talk to a BIPoC, queer person, or a person with a certain stance who is not on-site, let the awareness team know. We’ll try to find a contact person you feel comfortable with.
The awareness team is here to assist you, if necessary, in dealing with situations that are difficult or hurtful. In addition to supporting the person affected, the goal is to recognize and prevent violations and discrimination, to react collectively, and at the same time to strengthen the awareness of everyone. If at any point you feel like taking a step back, you’re warmly invited to reach out to us or spend some time in our awareness room. There, we do our best to respond to your individual needs - whether they are physical or psychological. The room is designed to be cozy and low-stimulus. You’ll find, among other things, snacks, drinks, and sensory tooly. You are welcome to spend time on your own or recieve support from the awareness team.
Location Saturday - Rote Fabrik: The way to the awareness room is signposted. It is located on the 1st floor of Building A. You can reach the room via the stairs or the elevator (80cm wide). Wheelchair-accessible restrooms are available in the club room.
Do you need support or more detailed information about the site and the rooms? Write us an e-mail info.enough@protonmail.com or contact us at any time on the day itself at the information table in the inner courtyard.
Help us support and put our awareness concept into practice! We want to create spaces where criticism can be voiced and accepted. We are aware that the enough. is also embedded in power structures. We are grateful for hints, suggestions and solidary criticism. Have we forgotten something? Get in touch with us!
Take care of each other – only together can we create spaces of solidarity that allow critical discourse! Help us to support and implement our awareness concept!
Glossary
We approach language with a critical awareness of power and recognize that language is always evolving and changing. That’s why we’d like to share how we understand some key terms.
Ableism is the everyday and structural reduction of a person to their dis_ability. This is accompanied by a devaluation (because of their dis_ability) or an upgrading (despite their dis_ability).
BIPoC is an acronym of and for Black, Indigenous and People of Color. It is a self-description of people who experience racism. Not all racialized people identify with the term.
By cultural appropriation we mean the appropriation and instrumentalization of cultural, religious and political symbolism coupled with unequal power relations. Global power relations must be considered in this context. The political context and implications of many symbolisms are not always conscious or recognizable, which is why we ask for a critical and conscious approach to them.
FLINTA is an acronym for Women, Lesbian, Inter, Non-binary, Trans and Agender People. The term refers to people who are not cis men and thus are more affected by patriarchal mechanisms of oppression.
Having privileges refers to not being confronted with certain problems and discriminations in everyday life. Privileges can be: having a Swiss passport; being perceived as white; being cis; not having a disability, etc.
Queermisia (anti-queer) refers to any form of discrimination against people, actions, or things whose expression of sexual or gender identity deviates from cis-heteronormativity. This spectrum ranges from prejudice, denial of identity and sexuality, lack of medical care, and legal disadvantages to deadly violence and suicide.
Racism is a social power relation in which groups of people are devalued, excluded, and disadvantaged based on actual or perceived physical, cultural, religious, or social characteristics. Racism manifests in many forms – from subtle remarks to structural violence – and can wound, dehumanize, and even kill. Racist discrimination may occur unconsciously or unintentionally, yet still have exclusionary and harmful effects. Racism robs people of their dignity, equality, and fundamental rights. As a structural phenomenon, racism is deeply embedded in social norms, discourses, laws, and state institutions, and is continually reproduced and reinforced through language, behavior, and routines. Racism appears in different forms, such as anti-Black, anti-Asian, anti-Muslim, anti-Jewish racism, Gadjé racism (discrimination against Romani, Sinti and Yenish people), xenoracism, and others. Each of these forms has its own contexts, histories, and experiences – and they can also overlap. How racism is experienced is further shaped by other relations of inequality such as gender, sexuality, class, disability, or residency status.
Sexism refers to the discrimination of people based on their (ascribed) gender, as well as the attribution of characteristics grounded in binary notions of gender. In a male-dominated society, sexism manifests especially in the devaluation, disadvantage, and violence directed toward women, trans, inter, and non-binary people, as well as femininity in general. (Cis) masculinity is understood as the norm against which everything else is measured. The spiral of patriarchal violence ranges from seemingly harmless catcalls to deadly feminicides. Sexism also interacts with other forms of discrimination.
This awareness concept is based on the awareness concept of in.vision; Awarenetz.ch; the dictionary of Verein Diversum; the glossary of Diversum, Bla*sh, NOTORACISM, histnoire.ch, Missy Magazine the collective Jüdisch Antikolonial, the awareness glossary of @wirmuesstenmalreden and the Jerusalem Declaration. Thank you for your work!
Hişmend be: xwe șyar kirin, xwe agahdar kirin, ji bo pirsgirêkên taybet hestyar be.
Ji bo me, hişmendî di serî de tê wateya berpirsiyariya komî. Di danûstandina hevbeş a bi têkiliyên desthilatdariyê û cudaxwaziyê re, em dikarin li dijî wan bisekinin. Ji bo me, ev yek tê de hişmendiya jî taybetmendiyan/îmtiyazan xwe û avahiyên desthilatdariyê yên heyî, û her weha xebata komî di rewşa êrîşên her cure de ye. Hişmendî bi awayê herî baş nabe ku ji çend kesên tenê re bi mîne hiştin. Ev pêvajo ya me hemûyan e, ji ber ku em hemu bi hev re diyar dikin, çawa ev rewş li cîhekî de ye –ne pirsgirêke çi li pişt Barê be, li ber Derî, li ser Dikê bê an jî wekî mêvan.
Ev tevger li me cihê xwe nîn e û qet lê borîn nabe:
Axaftiin û karên neĵadperest, zayendperest, dijî queer û dijî astengdaran. Îdeolojiyên kolonîalî bi her awayî. Tunî di her cure de. Têkeliya laşî bê erênî. Wênekirina kesên din bê daxwaz, ya ku dikare taybeK û ewlehiyê wan bi xyîza sor bike.
Tîmê Hişyariyê çi dike û li ku derê ez wê dibînim?
Di dema çalakiyan de, dê Rmeke hişyariyê (Awareness-Team) amade be, ku tu dikarî wê bi stîkerên pembe yên “enough.” Nas bikî.Heke tu rewşekî newekhevî derbas bikî an jî tu ew li ser kesên din bibînî, bi Rmê hişyarî re têkilî bike. Lê tîmê hişyarî ne divê wek komek kontrolê an jî xizmeta ewlehiyê tê têgihiştin, û ne jî wek rêxistina şêwirmend. Em hewl didin ku mirovên cuda, yên bi zanyarî û gelek cuda, bo axaXinê ava bikin. Heke tu dixwazî bi kesek ji komekê FLINTA, an BIPoC, an kesek ku queer e, an kesek bi rewşa taybet axivî, tu dikarî vê axaftinê bi tîmê hişyarî re bibêjî. Em ê hewl bidin ku kesek bibînin ku tu xwe bi wê re aram hest bikî.
Tîmê hişyarî bi dilsozî ji te re piştgirî dike heke tu di rewşên dijwar an jî birîndar de alîkariyê dixwazî. Armanc ew e, li gel piştgiriya kesê a bandor lê bûyî, ew e ku êrîş û cûdakarî werin nasîn, wan rawestînin, bi awayekî komikî bersiv were dayîn û di heman demê de hişyariya her kesî were xurtkirin. Heke tu hest bikî ku pêwistî heye xwe ji bo kêlîkê dûr bikîşî, bi me re biaxive an jî ji Odeya Hişyarî ya me bikar bîne. Li wir em hewl didin ku bi taybetî li gorî pêdiviyên te bersiv bidin, bêguman her çi ew laşî bin an jî psikolojîk. Oda bi awayekî aram û bê hêrs hatî çêkirin.
Li wir tu dikarî, di nav wan tiştan de, xwarinên hêsan, vexwarin û îkariyên hestiyarî bibînî. Te derfet heye ku tenê bimînî an jî piştgiriyê ji tîmê hişyariyê bisnî.
Cih: Şemî – Fabrîqeya Sor (Rote Fabrik) Rêya ber bi odeya hişyariyê bi hatî nîşankirin. Ew Ode li qata yekem (1.
Tu pêwîstî piştgiriyê an agahiyên berfirehtir li ser malper û odeyan heye? Ji me re E-myîlek bişîne: info.enough@protonmail.com an jî li roja xwe de û her dem li rex maseya agahiyê di navçe ya hundirê (nenhof) re têkilî bike.
Alîkarîya piştgirî û bicihanînaTêgihîna – Hişmendiyê Ya me bikin. Em ji bo nêrînan, pêşniyara û rexneyên bi hevgirtin spasdar in. Me tiştek ji bîr kir? Bi me re têkilî deyne.
Li hev xwedî bînin – tenê bi hev re em dikarin cihên hevkarî çêkin ku di nav de danûstandina rexneyî bikin.
Ferhengok
Em bi zimanekî rexneyî desthilatdariyê re dikin, em agah in ku ziman her tim pêşve diçe û diguhere. Ji ber vê yekê em dixwazin li vir diyar bikin ka em hinek peyvên sereke çawa tê hîs kirin û tê têgihiştin.
Ableismus ew kêmkirina rojane û çarçoveyê a mirov li ser astengdariya wî/wê ye. Li gel vê yekê, nirx-daxis<n (ji ber astengdariya wî/wê) an jî nirx-bilindkirin (tevî astengdariya wî/wê) heye.
BIPOC kurtkirinek e ji bo “Reş, mirovên Xwecihî û Rengîn”. Ev navnîşaneke xwe-şînasî ya ji bo wan kesan e ku mijarên neĵadperestî re bihurin. Ne hemû kesên nijadperesR li ser wan pêkanîne, dikarin xwe bi vî peyvî nas bikin.
FLINTA kurtkirinek e ji bo "Jin, Lezbiyan, Inter, Non-binary, Trans û Agender ye "Ev peyv ji bo wan kesan tê bikaranîn ku ew ne mêrên cis in û ji ber vê yekê ji aliyê mekanîzmayên zordestiya baviksalariyê ve zêdetir bandor dibin.
Ev têgeh, hemû cudakarîya li hemberî kesan, kiryaran an tiştên yên bi gotinan bi alîyê nasnameya zayendî de an zayendî ji normên cis-hetero dûr dikevin, Ev yek ji pêşdaraziyan, Windakirina nasname û zaindyî, kêmbuna xizmetên tendirustî û dûrbûna yasayî, heya zordestîa hişk û xwekujîyê.
Nîjadperest. Neĵadperestî tê gotin têkiliyeke desthilatdariyê ya civakî ye ku tê de nirxa komên mirovan ji ber taybetmendiyên ozîkî, çandî, olî an civakî yên rastî an derwyî têne kêmkirin, têne dûrxistin û nebaş tên dîtin. Nîjadperestî bi gelek awayan xwe dide der – ji gotinên hûrbîn heta zordestiya Gwedeyî/ Çarçuveyî, û dikare êşê bide, mirovan ji mirovatiya wan bêpar bike û wan bikuje. Cûdakariya nîjadperestî dikare bêhiş an bê armanc be, û dîsa jî di bandora xwe de dûrxistî û êşdar be. Nîjadperestî mirovan ji rûmeta wan, wekheviya wan û mafên wan yên bingehîn bêpar dike.Wek diyardeyeke rejîmeke, nîjadperestî bi kûrahî di normên civakî, gotûbêjan, awayan û saziyên dewletê de cih digire û bi riya ziman, tevgedi kartînan her tim tê dubarekirin, nuhkirin û parastin. Nîjadperestî bi awayên cûda derdikeve, wek mînak di nîjadperestiya li dijî Reşan, li dijî Asyayiyan, li dijî Misilmanan, li dijî Cihûyan, nîjadperestiya Gadjé, û nîjadperestiya beyanyîan (Xenorasîzm) û yên din. Van awayan xwedî rêzik, dîrok û lê jyîan kirin xwe yên taybet in, û ew dikarin li ser hev jî bikevin. Wekî din, ka nîjadperestî çawa tê jiyîn, bi têkiliyên newekheviyê yên din ên wek rengê civakî, çin, zayendîtî, astengdarî an statûya rûniştinê ve jî girêdayî ye.
Sexismus. Tê gotin cihkirina li hemberî mirovan li ser bingeha zayenda wan (ya ku ji wan re hatiye destnîşankirin) û her weha dayîna taybetmendiyan li ser bingeha hişmendîa dîyadî zayendî. Di civaka yên binêr nîşan dide. Di civakeke ku mêran li ser wê serdest e de, cinsiyetperestî/ Şêxmûs bi taybeR di nirx-kêmkirin, nebaşdîtin, û derxistin, zordestiyê li hemberî jin û kesên ne binêr, trans*, inter* , û her weha jinîRyê bi gişR de, derdikeve.Di vê rewşê de, mêraniya (cis) wekî norm tê têgihiştin, ku her tişt li ser wê tê pîvandin. Dûrepa zordestiyê baviksalariyê ji okandina ku xuya dikin bê zrar in hey femînîsîdên kujer (kuştina jinan). Cinsiyetperestî bi awayên din ên cûdakariyê re têkilîdar e.
Ev Têgihîna – Hişmendiyê, di nav tiştên din de, li ser bingeha têgehên hişmendî yê in.vision; Awarenetz.ch; Ferhenga Komeleya Diversum; Ferhengoka ji Bla*sh, NOTORACISM, histnoire.ch, Kovara Missy Magazine, komika Jüdisch Antikolonial, Ferhengoka Hişyariyê ya @wirmuesstenmalreden û Danezana Orşelîmê hat amadekirin.
Spas ji bo xebata we.
Accessibility
Parkplatz and Rote Fabrik are wheelchair accessible. The Post Squat is not self-determined accessible. You can find more detailed information about each venue below. For any questions or assistance, please feel free to contact us at info.enough@protonmail.com.
With the discussion about the new venue, we were once again confronted with the fact that, as enough, we generally move in spaces where people have had different experiences and that not everyone feels equally comfortable or welcome everywhere. If you don’t want to come to an event alone and would rather go in a group, feel free to write to us! We will organise a meeting point.
Park Platz (Wasserwerkstrasse 101 , 8037 Zurich):
This location is generally accessible. The entrance via Wasserwerkstrasse is paved. The ground on the premises is partially uneven. The bar and restrooms are accessible by wheelchair. The best connection is via the Okenstrasse bus stop (line 46), which is about a 5-10 minute walk away.
Post Squat (1st floor, Wipkingerplatz 7, 8037 Zürich):
The Post Squat does not have any parking spaces. The building is wheelchair accessible, but the first floor cannot be reached independently as there is no lift. Anyone who would like to attend and needs assistance is welcome to contact us via Instagram or email.
We will organise a meeting point for anyone who would like to go to Post Squat together: between 7 p.m. and 7.10 p.m. at the Wipkingerplatz tram stop.
The best connection by public transport is from the Escher-Wyss-Platz or Wipkingerplatz tram stops or the Rosengarten bus stop (approx. 5 minutes’ walk).
Rote Fabrik (Seestrasse 395, 8038 Zurich):
This venue is also generally accessible, and there is a parking space for people with disabilities. Further information about accessibility can be found at the following link: Zugangsmonitor. The best connection is via the Rote Fabrik bus station (lines 161/165 and night bus), with a walk of about 5-10 minutes. Additional travel options can be found here: Rote Fabrik Kontakt.

Statement on the cancellation
Statement on the cancellation of the use of Saal Dorothee Sölle in the Kirchgemeindehaus Aussersihl We will not be silenced: Free Palestine!
As we already communicated in an earlier post, we had to organize new venues at short notice for two of our events that were originally planned in the Kirchgemeindehaus Aussersihl. Three days before the event Apartheid Free Zones (AFZ): Get active!, the Church Council (Kirchenpflege) of the City of Zurich, against the will of the Citykirche Offener St. Jakob, decided to withdraw the space from us. Where we are not allowed to speak about the genocide in Palestine, we will not speak about the genocide in Congo either. For this reason, the event of the FreeCongo collective will also not take place in the Kirchgemeindehaus.
With this decision, the Church Council willingly responds to pressure from Zionist lobbying and seeks to silence those voices demanding an end to the genocide in Palestine and criticizing the settler-colonial project of Israel. According to the Church Council, an event calling for the boycott of a genocidal state and the demand to end apartheid would supposedly “endanger religious peace.”
This course of action is part of the ongoing suppression of Palestinian voices in the city of Zurich. Zionist lobby groups, right-wing media outlets such as the NZZ, the city authorities, and now also the Church Council trample on freedom of expression whenever Israel is criticized. Last year, the GRA attempted to put pressure on the venue of our panel on Palestine. This year, the Church Council responded immediately, without hesitation and without even consulting the enou9h. Collective, to pressure from the Zionist lobby.
But we will not be silenced! That is why we are all the more grateful that our events can now take place at such short notice at Parki and Post Squat. A huge thank you to both spaces for their flexibility!
Come in large numbers – we look forward to seeing you! ❤️
