ROTA is a self organized group of migrants, mainly from Turkey/Kurdistan and middle east, working on the strengthening the collective agency of a migrant subject in switzerland. To this end, it forms networks, carries out public relations work regarding the rights of refugees in asylum camps, works on the realisation of collective and individual rights of refugees of refugees and migrants and aims above all to combat the lethargy that is an inherent part of the swiss asylum camps.
The “accelerated asylum procedure” came into force on 1 March 2019. In her presentation, lawyer Nesrin Ulu (MOR Association) will talk about the new and very short deadlines of treatment and appeal and will address the issues of “reasons for asylum” and “credibility”. Against this background, she will discuss the problems of hearings and evidence and will identify critical points to which particular attention should be paid. This is followed by a Q&A. The lecture will be held in Turkish.
